KAYAKING AND CANOEING

As you may already have worked out from the rest of the pages on our website the breathtaking beauty of the coastal environment provides an incredible backdrop for the activities and outdoor learning experiences we provide. The ability to take to the sea in a variety of different craft mean that we can provide an awesome range of water based experiences. To paddle a kayak under the incredible rock formation of our cliffs, spot porpoise, sea birds and seal pups and watch the sunset over Ramsay Island from afloat all give a resonance to the experience which is unsurpassed anywhere in the UK.

We have easy to manoeuvre, stable and comfortable Kayaks that enable us to deliver taster sessions and short journeys along the coast. We have Open Canoes for the added challenge of working together in a craft whilst exploring the wildlife rich estuary of the Cleddau or jour- neying down the River Teifi. We can also provide guided Sea Kayak journeys of a day or multi day duration with beach bivouacs and a truly adventurous feel.

However you want to experience the water and waves of the coast our team can give you an experience to match your aspirations. For youth groups the open canoe is a favourite mode of transport. To control and steer these highly manoeuvrable craft takes a level of team work and communication that for some is an achievement in itself. How you work together in a boat can demonstrate how you work with others in other aspects of your life. The outcomes are tangible and external forces are negligible.

In terms of self effectiveness and individual learning the kayak is king. It provides direct feedback and enables learning styles to be explored, challenges and goal setting to be examined and once mastered has the ability to provide an opportunity to visit a world that would not have been possible without that process of developing new skills.
